Entry level depot fuelling for single site and smaller transport operators
Discussions with many smaller fleet operators have confirmed our view that most are taking steps to invest in fuel management systems that will help them to become more cost efficient in readiness for an upturn in the UK economy.

Merridale is ready to meet this requirement with its ‘entry’ level systems, designed for single depot firms such as couriers, taxis and bus operators. “These are all highly competitive sectors, operating close to home where in-house facilities can provide an edge by saving on time wasted queuing at busy retail forecourts,” explains sales and marketing director, Stephen Hannan.
Depot facilities offer several benefits including total control, fuel cost advantages, no risk of fraud, and if needs be, a depot storage tank provides a safety margin should there be any disruption to national supplies.”
Merridale’s Eco R Series is ideally suited to local service transport fleet operations. The equipment is easy to operate and convenient for self service, using standard forecourt nozzles. There is no compromise on the Merridale standard for quality and reliability.
ECO-R utilises the advantages of the proven Merridale Datakey and can include Vehicle and Driver identification coupled with accurate odometer entry verified with Merridale iProve authentication. Entries are made by a robust metallic key pad for reliability.
Available as a stand alone unit that may be coupled to up to two existing fuel pumps, the range also includes a robust light to medium duty fuel pump and even an integral system which combines both the pump and the fuel management for ease of installation.
The pump enclosures can also be configured as a twin pack allowing added flexibility for the lay-out of fuelling points.
To compliment the ECO –R range Merridale has introduced FUELSITE single depot Software. For use with fleets with up to 99 vehicles/drivers, this is a simplified, entry level application that provides essential information needed to control access, track usage for individual groups of vehicles or drivers, and generates performance reports. Data can be formatted for export to MS Office applications and fleet management systems.
A long-standing Merridale customer, Linburg Bus & Coach has once again demonstrated its commitment to reliable, data-driven fuel management by expanding its use of Merridale systems across three new sites more than ten years after their original shift from paper logs to using Merridale’s FuelWorks reporting software. Back in 2013, Linburg made the leap from handwritten fuel […]
