Bowser fuelling facilities now incorporated in Merridale® FuelWorks

Latest development of the functionality provided by the Merridale web-based fuel management service, FuelWorks includes support for mobile bowser fuelling operations. This is good news for users deploying fuel supplies to isolated plant and machinery. Applications cover farming, peat extraction, quarries and construction.

FuelWorks v6.02 features a storage tank configuration page which allows users to designate a bowser function. The system software can distinguish between the transfer of fuel, from a storage tank to a bowser and the fuel dispensed into plant and machines in the field.

FuelWorks v6.02 features a storage tank configuration page which allows users to designate a bowser function. The system software can distinguish between the transfer of fuel, from a storage tank to a bowser and the fuel dispensed into plant and machines in the field.

On the vehicle key fuelling details is a dropdown box marked “Fuel bowser”. For normal vehicles this should be left as “No”. If this key is used to transfer fuel to a bowser, however, then users can designate the appropriate bowser. As fuel is dispensed against the key it will be treated as having been issued to the bowser specified.

In operation, where fuel has been dispensed to a bowser it will show on reports twice: Firstly as an issue of fuel against the key that was used, marked as “Transfer” instead of “Issue”. And secondly as a delivery of fuel against the bowser tank, marked as a normal “Delivery”.

The report designer function allows users to choose between “Issue” or “Transfer” transactions. There is also an option to ignore the transferred fuel quantities. The important benefit is that costs are calculated automatically.

The cost of the fuel dispensed to the bowser is copied to the cost of the delivery into the bowser and the costs for subsequent issues from the bowser are updated accordingly.

Built to be the complete solution in commercial fuelling and designed to meet strict ATEX standards, the MX-I […]

Three Decades Of Merridale Fuel Pumps

With Merridale’s own range now available, as well as still supplying Gilbarco with fuel management units, the marketplace had the choice of buying either a complete Merridale built package or a Gilbarco built version of the same management system. However, over the decades that followed, Merridale enhanced its product range by introducing true twin units, […]
